14 Things I Love About the Hyatt Visa

For the longest time, it’s been easy to find a mediocre hotel with no personality or character. Now that hotels are becoming more premium and having unique features like in-room kitchens or swimming pools, travelers have new expectations for what they want out of their stay. We’re living in an age where you can book your room online before disembarking from your flight at LAX–and when you do so, there is just one name on the list: Hyatt

This is a list of things I love about my Visa card. It’s pure, we don’t have to carry cash, and it has all the important features like no foreign transaction fees.

The “buy hyatt points” is a feature that allows users to buy Hyatt points. The luxury hotel chain offers over 100 hotels worldwide with an average stay of 2.5 nights.

The Hyatt Visa has 14 features that I like.

I am compensated for the content and several links on my site. Citibank, American Express, Chase, Barclays, and Capital One are all advertising partners on this site. My advertising partners have not reviewed, authorized, or supported any of the thoughts stated in this article. I don’t write about all credit cards; instead, I concentrate on miles, points, and cash back (and currencies that can be converted into the same). The offers and advantages described on this website are subject to the terms.

The Hyatt Credit Card World

The Hyatt credit card has been relaunched. I dug up my old one from the back of the closet, promptly upgraded to the new one, and spent roughly $30,000 on it. This year, I’ve been using the card to help secure my’real’ top tier elite status for next year, which includes a personal concierge and guaranteed suite upgrades. In the process, I earned a handful of free nights in addition to points, however they can’t be verified into suites.

Hyatt points are more valuable than points from other hotel chains (1 Hyatt point is worth more than 1 Hilton, Marriott, or IHG point), and I found them to be the simplest to utilize to book the nicest rooms at their properties. As a consequence, I am a huge supporter of the card.

Here are 14 things about the card that I like.

  1. Excellent first-time bonus As a new cardholder, you may earn 50,000 points by spending $3,000 on purchases in the first three months after you activate your account. Plus, get up to 30,000 Bonus Points by earning 2 Bonus Points every $1 spent on transactions that typically yield 1 Bonus Point in the first 6 months from account setup, on up to $15,000 spent.

At 1.4 cents per Hyatt point, I estimate that this incentive is worth $700.

At regular award price, 60,000 points will get you two free nights at any Hyatt hotel up to category 7 for two nights (or 17 nights at category 1 properties off-peak.)

  2. For continued spending, this is a good income opportunity. This is the earning structure for this card, which is still the greatest card for Hyatt spend in my opinion.
    • Hyatt spends 4 points every dollar.
    • Restaurants that pay 2 points per dollar; airline tickets bought directly from the airline; health club and gym memberships; local transportation and commuting, including ride-sharing services
    • 1 point for every dollar spent on other items

With Hyatt, the previous card earned 3 points per dollar; at 4 points, I use the Hyatt card for Hyatt purchases. They also provide ridesharing and health club memberships (which include class passes). This is the only card I’m aware of that offers a bonus for fitness spending.

  3. Anniversary night is completely free. You receive a free night at a category 1-4 Hyatt resort every anniversary year, much as the previous edition of this card. The majority of Hyatts fit into one of these groups. These free nights count toward elite status. They’re also applicable when peak room rates are in effect.

  4. Each year you spend $15,000 on the card, you get a free stay at a category 1-4 hotel. Putting a $15,000 yearly expenditure limit on the card is thus appealing.

  5. Automatic Discoverist (first tier elite) status, which corresponds to MGM’s M life Rewards status.

  6. Spending helps you acquire status: you receive 5 elite nights per year simply for possessing the card, and every $5,000 you spend earns you two elite qualifying nights. The amount of elite nights you may earn is unlimited.

With just credit card spending, you may become a Globalist (highest tier elite). Earning Globalist for 60 nights entitles you to the following:

    • At check-in, the best available accommodation, including basic suites
    • At locations with lounges, admission to the club lounge is available.
    • Upgrades to four suites (for up to 7 nights each) at the time of booking
    • If your hotel doesn’t have a club lounge, you can have a full breakfast (not just continental breakfast like other chains offer)
    • ‘My Hyatt Concierge’ is a personal bookings agent that will manage all of your Hyatt requirements.
  7. At 30 elite qualifying nights, you’ll get a free night. After 30 nights, the Hyatt program gives you another free night (category 1-4 property). Spending money on the card earns you 30 elite nights.
  8. At 60 elite qualifying nights, you’ll get a free night. When you reach the highest tier of Globalist rank, you’ll be eligible for another free night, this time at a property in category 1-7.

  9. Earning more eligible nights will win you a bonus. At 70, 80, 90, and 100 nights, Hyatt offers an extra (option of) guaranteed suite or 10,000 points, thus spending on this card contributes to those goals as well. Your credit card spending may push you over one of these limits, so you’re not ‘wasting money’ by continuing to use this card.
  10. For high-end redemptions, points are fantastic. The most costly Hyatt standard room outside of the all-inclusive Miraval retreat costs 30,000 points, whether it’s at the Park Hyatt Paris, Sydney, Tokyo, or New York. There are also lots of low-cost high-end hotels. (Some SLH Hotels and Destination Residences are more expensive.)

  11. There are no better places to go to get access to suites. Suites cost 60 percent more than normal rooms at Hyatt, and a premium suite may be redeemed for twice the points of a conventional room. They’re also superior to all other chains in terms of improvements. A qualifying paid stay may be upgraded to a suite for 6000 points per night, and a premium suite upgrade can be verified upon booking for 9000 points if available. There is no other hotel chain that can equal that, therefore Hyatt points are a significant asset if you like improved rooms.
  12. It’s simple to earn additional points by transferring to Chase Ultimate Rewards. For example, you may transfer points to Hyatt from the Chase Sapphire Preferred Card, allowing you to gain points from the World Of Hyatt Credit Card while topping out your account with other points to ensure you have enough for any redemption you wish to make.
  13. It is possible to mix points. You may not only combine Chase points in your Hyatt account, but you can also freely transfer Hyatt points across accounts. So, if you receive the World Of Hyatt Credit Card and a family member does as well, they may share their points with you and you can then redeem them.
  14. For longer stays, free nights may be combined. You may earn a lot of free nights with the card. But what if they’re insufficient? Make a few nights’ reservations in their name and a few nights’ bookings in yours, back-to-back, if your travel partner has the card and earns free nights. I met a couple at the Park Hyatt in the Maldives who had both obtained the Hyatt card and used it to redeem free nights.
