Carnival announced the ship, which will be based in Galveston and sail to Cozumel. The Jubilee is scheduled to begin sailing on June 15th of this year.

The “Carnival Jubilee 2023” is a cruise ship that will be based out of Galveston, Texas. The vessel will be the third LNG-powered Carnival ship to enter service.

Carnival Cruise Line has unveiled the name of its third LNG-powered Excel-class vessel, Carnival Jubilee, which will be based in Galveston, Texas. The next mega-ship, which will be the sister ship of Mardi Gras and Carnival Celebration, will debut in 2023.

The Carnival Jubilee will call Galveston home.

The Miami-based cruise firm keeps renaming its new Excel-class cruise ships after its older ships. The Carnival Jubilee will be the third ship of the new generation class, and will be named after the first Carnival Jubilee cruise ship, which debuted in 1986 and was part of the Holiday-class.

Carnival Cruise Line provided the rendering.

“We are thrilled to bring our brand-new Carnival Jubilee to Texas and the greater southwest region,” said Christine Duffy, president of Carnival Cruise Line. “Carnival was the first cruise line to offer year-round cruising from Galveston in 2000, and we have continued to grow our presence and support of the Port of Galveston’s expansion, so we are thrilled to bring our brand-new Carnival Jubilee to Texas and the greater southwest region.” “This magnificent, inventive ship will provide our passengers with a totally new cruise experience, and we’ve planned some fantastic surprises to spice things up in ways we know they’ll like.”

The third Excel-class ship will be similar to its sisters and will run entirely on liquefied natural gas (LNG). The ship will be 182,800 gross tonnage, with a capacity of over 5,400 guests in double occupancy and 1,700 foreign staff members.

The BOLT roller coaster will be available aboard the Carnival Jubilee, which was initially debuted on sister ship Mardi Gras in 2020. Like her sister ships, she will have additional dining options, new accommodation designs, and a central three-deck atrium.

Carnival Jubilee is a Texas-based carnival.

Carnival Jubilee will be based out of the Port of Galveston in Texas when she launches in 2023, according to the company. It will be the biggest Carnival cruise ship ever to travel from Galveston, and it will follow in the footsteps of the first ship, which also cruised from the port.

At the annual CruiseWorld travel adviser conference in Miami Beach, Florida, the news was teased and then confirmed. Carnival Cruise Line President Christine Duffy was joined on stage by a seven-foot cowboy as she announced the news.

“We love Texas, and Texas loves Carnival,” Duffy remarked. Galveston is one of our busiest homeports, attracting visitors from all around the Midwest, Southwest, and Western United States. Bringing a brand-new ship to market is a significant commitment, but one we are happy to undertake for the wider Galveston community and area.”

The first year-round ship in Galveston was the original Celebration (also the name of the second Excel-class vessel Carnival Celebration), which arrived in 2000, followed by the first Jubilee in 2002. The new Excel class, which is four times the size of the original ship, will provide Texans and others with fresh and exciting travel possibilities.

Carnival Jubilee will set sail from Galveston on seven-day western Caribbean itinerary. The cruise company will reveal more exact itinerary information around that time, and reservations will begin in early 2022.
