The US Travel Association is partnering with Tourism Diversity Matters to help companies and destinations reach the diverse groups of people who want travel experiences in the US.
The “research on travel and tourism” is a partnership between the US Travel Association and Tourism Diversity Matters. The goal of this partnership is to promote diversity in the travel industry.
The United States Travel Association and Tourism Diversity Matters have formed a strategic relationship to increase the association’s emphasis and support for the industry on problems of diversity, equality, and inclusion (DEI). Tourism Diversity Matters’ subject area knowledge, research, and tools will be more widely available as a result of the relationship.
“A key goal of Tourism Diversity Matters is to affiliate with industry partners like the United States Travel Association to advance diversity, equity, and inclusion solutions that will benefit the tourism and events industry as a whole,” said Greg DeShields, Tourism Diversity Matters’ Executive Director. “We are excited about this new alliance and the great effect that our collaboration will have.”
What’s Hot Right Now
This year, Tourism Diversity Matters was created to combat racial imbalances in the tourism and events business. The group offers information and approaches to industry leaders to help them establish more successful DEI strategies for engaging, recruiting, and retaining a diverse workforce.
The US Travel Association has made DEI a top priority, and it is dedicated to playing a key role in bringing about long-term change and supporting the creation of industry-wide DEI programs.
“The United States Travel Association has a clear vision: we want to assist the travel industry become a genuinely diverse, egalitarian, and inclusive business for everyone,” stated Roger Dow, president and CEO of the United States Travel Association and a board member of Tourism Diversity Matters. “Aligning with Tourism Diversity Matters is an excellent first step in this direction, and it will benefit U.S. Travel’s membership for many years to come.”
In addition to Dow, Christine Duffy, President of Carnival Cruise Lines and National Head of the United States Travel Association, is a member of Tourism Diversity Matters’ board of directors, which is chaired by Elliott Ferguson, the immediate past chair of the United States Travel Association.
“Diversity enriches companies by bringing fresh ideas and views to the fore,” said Contina Djaouga, vice president of finance and chair of the USTA’s internal DEI committee. “Tourism Diversity Matters gives our sector the tools it needs to take real steps toward creating an inclusive workforce that better reflects the diversity of our country’s population.”

The “u.s. travel association forecast” is a new project that has been launched by the u.s. travel association to help promote tourism diversity in America. With this partnership, Tourism Diversity Matters will have an opportunity to work with the US Travel Association on creating and promoting their campaign for the next year.
